Yes. Race. I’ve got a 3′, counted cross-stitch tree skirt to finish, hand-made ornaments to make, and 4 stockings to design and knit. I’ve already got most of the design down – font chosen and converted, colours and sizes picked, and Ken’s designed the snowflake – I just need to pull it all together into a cohesive pattern and get the colour chart for the yarn I’m using (my current colour chart is out of date). I hope they’re as nice as I’m intending them to be. I’m styling them after these, though different colours and a different snowflake and our names on them (obviously). I haven’t decided whether to do a turned down cuff at the top or not (not fuzzy, likely, but perhaps matching the contrasting colour of the snowflake/lettering).
Now I just need to wait til Mary Maxim starts putting ornaments on sale – My mom used to make beaded ornaments from them when I was really small, and they make me think of her and that’s very appropriate for the holidays since she is a huge part of my holiday memories.

I’ve decided to make new stockings for my crew as well. I’m not as crafty so knitting is right out. I just know that whatever I decide to make has to be a bit more ….sturdy… than what we had.
Do you have any of the beaded ornaments that your mom made? I’m wondering if she used techniques similar to the ones that I know.
